On 22 May 2026, Presidential Decree 95/26 of 22 May was published, establishing a new legal framework for family benefits under the mandatory social protection system and fully repealing Presidential Decree 8/11 of 7 January.
This instrument was introduced as part of a review of social policies, with the aim of aligning family support mechanisms with changes in the cost of living and strengthening the protection of beneficiaries of the contributory system, particularly in situations involving maternity and increased family-related expenses.
The decree came into force on the date of its publication, marking a new phase in Angola’s family social protection framework. The new framework focuses on enhanced benefits, streamlined allocation mechanisms, and increased accountability of system stakeholders.
